A fifteen-year-long wish came true yesterday as I finally got my teeth fixed. The irony is that I really, really wanted braces when I was younger, but the orthodontist said my teeth would just drift back to their original places when the braces came off. So, no go. Then I thought my wisdom teeth would push the front teeth together when they came in, but those impacted monsters came and went without any benefit. Thanks a lot, guys.
So, I finally bit the bullet and got veneers yesterday. It was a complicated process that took three weeks, which gave me plenty of time to worry I would end up looking like the lady who accidentally put her husband's dentures in.
But, instead, I look like this:
I'm still getting used to it. Apparently, I'm experiencing what normal kids do at age fourteen when they get their braces off. When I tried chewing gum for the first time yesterday, I had some trouble and panicked at the thought of never chewing gum again. I thought, "WHAT have I done?!" But, luckily, I figured it out. So, I guess I'll keep them.
No mac truck is getting through this space, Dad.

You look hot!!! But you've always been beautiful to me (in a non-sexual best friend sort of way... did things just get weird?)
