Every now and then I forget how close I live to Hollywood and the all the business that it entails. But then I come across something, like I did yesterday morning on my run, that quickly reminds me that I'm not in Kansas anymore. (Or Missouri, for that matter.)
Mia and I were moving to the beat of the Juno soundtrack when I noticed the tell-tale signs that a movie or television production was taking over a house for filming. The roads were blocked off to prevent parking and I was trying to read the signs to see if I could figure out what was going on. Then I glanced at the house and almost tripped over myself. The house and yard were covered with SNOW. As in "winter wonderland" kind of fake snow. In 75 degree weather. In the middle of a lush, green neighborhood. It was a pretty shocking, wonderfully magical scene. I went back this morning to take a picture to show you how absurd it looked, but everything was already cleaned up. It was like I dreamed it. BUT I DIDN'T!
Since I don't have the aid of a photograph, I took the liberty to draw a quick picture, so you, too, could enjoy this September Christmas miracle.

I would have loved to see that! I think I would have just stared at it open-mouthed for like five minutes. Snow in Pasadena! Who would have thought?!?! Even if it was fake snow.
I like your illustration better than any photo.
man. that is awesome.
Oh, what a lovely drawing... although all it did was make me dread the nine months of winter heading my way :(
