Rx

This marks the third night in a row that I'm in my pj's before 8 pm.  Except maybe yesterday doesn't count since I never technically got out of my pj's all day.  I'm having flashbacks of getting sick in Ecuador and I NEVER want to go back to that experience.  Every time I get sick I become further cemented in my view that not having kids is a great idea.  Because how do you people PARENT when you feel like this?  My poor dog didn't have her evening walk for 2 days.

Today I braved the outside world and (semi)taught one of my classes before throwing in the towel and canceling the other one.  I know my body thinks we're moving along with plans as scheduled (What? Robin has a break from school?  Time to knock of her socks with sickness!), except for the fact life is no longer "as scheduled."  Yes, Fuller is on spring break, but I still have my clerkship duties, teaching duties, writing my final integration paper duties, and figuring out this pre-internship mess duties.  So, body, this is me telling you to snap out of that old system we used to abide by.  I cannot afford to be sick right now.

Until my body listens to my lecturing, I am sort of doing work, but mostly reading strangers blogs (is it weird that one is a sweet Mormon girl and the other is liberal lucy with the mouth of a sailor?)  and ingesting as much fluids and Vitamin C as possible.  This evening I walked Mia up to Jamba Juice to get a smoothie to soothe my throat and boost my immunity.  While waiting for my Cold Buster (or something else as cleverly named), a stranger inquired about my hair stylist and spent the next 10 minutes asking me detailed questions on how I fix my hair.  She may not have cleansed my chest of phlegm, but she sure gave me a little bounce to my step on the walk home.  Until I had a coughing fit.  Sigh.

Potential silver lining: getting sick now means I won't be sick when my sista comes out to visit next week!  Fingers crossed!

And it is a good thing that I didn't walk with you. :) Maybe soon.

I hope you don't have what I ad (Influenza B-so I'm convinced). I had it for 6 weeks and still counting. I hear you though. I have pretty much given up on showering or changing out of my pajamas.
I hope you start feeling better much, much sooner!
