Adventures with Ruby

Meet the new addition to the Blair household:

She's a red 1989 Volvo. With 150,000 miles. And some quirks.

For instance...the only way to lock the driver's side door is to reach through the back seat window or across the passenger's seat to manually push down the lock. She can only be unlocked the same way. So guess who doesn't lock their car anymore.

The good news is that the radio works. The bad news is that this only happens when Ruby feels in the mood. And I don't know how to switch stations. And there's no AC (yet). Or a spare tire (I think). And when I slam the trunk shut, the trim pops off. BUT she cost less than Oliver.

And Mia seems to approve!


After the big purchase on Wednesday (that involved a Craigslist ad, an alcoholic sister, and a lien on the title), a friend pointed out the fact that there's a male symbol embedded in my new car. What the???
